-Practice your new dance moves, or teach them to a family member.

-I sent home the December newsletter via email.  If you didn't receive it, please let me know.

- A letter will be sent out soon regarding the dance at the end of the term.

November 25th

We are quickly heading into the last month of the year.  Keep checking for updates and information on the last few weeks before the holidays.

LA: Socio-grams were due today.  We have started the novel "Parvana's Journey" as a class read aloud.
Math 6- Unit test on numbers will be next week. (likely Wed)
Socials:  We are continuing to learn about the UN and how they play a role in our world.  POSTERS on child's rights are due on Monday.

I have asked for parents email addresses so I can begin sending home newsletters and information via email.  Please help your child with this.

LA:  complete the drafts of your Breadwinner Assignments.  Be prepared to do the good copy of your future paragraph and begin drawing your events.

Writing:  Have your draft of your memoire ready to be handed in.

Math 6:  Page 72 ( 4, 8,9, 10 & 12)  Don't forget to show your work. (steps taken to complete the equation)

Be sure your parents see the notice sent home today.  Please remember to return your work habits assessment signed.

We survived Halloween, and are quickly moving into November!  Please remind your child the expectation is that they go outside during lunch and need to dress appropriately.


Homework:
Math 6th - Pg 65 questions 2-6
Socials:  Each student should have a paragraph completed on two Cultural Universals and be ready to create a poster with their group.

October 27th

- Math 6 - we are currently working on Prime and composite numbers.
-Show or teach your parents the divisibility rules for recognizing composite numbers.

LA- Complete the drawing of Parvana's house. Include colour and details.

SS- Have your notes and draft paragraph on your universal completed.  Be prepared to type it out and start your poster.

October 11th

Math 6 - pg 56 - Complete at least 4 of the following questions.   Everyone must complete  (3,4,7,12,& 13) choice 1 (5,8,11,15,17) Choice 2 (6,9,10,14,16)

Math 7 - pg 12 (1-6) and mark

Socials - Complete 3 word notes on Interior Plains

Time Capsules are now due. 

September 30th

Grade 6 math:  Complete question #2 and teach someone the new finger math.
Socials maps on Physical regions are to be labelled and coloured.
Time Capsules are to be completed and handed in on Monday. 
Be sure to follow all criteria on both the Socials maps and the Time Capsules.

September 28th

Great Job everyone on the Terry Fox Run.  A reminder that donations are being accepted until next week!

The weather is changing so be sure to come to school dressed for the weather.  All students are expected to be outside during the lunch outside time.  We also may be outside during PE some come prepared!

Time Capsule due date has been extended due to some interruptions.  It will be due next week.

We are continuing to work on our maps of Canada, and discussing how our culture is affected by being such a large country.

SEPTEMBER 21st

LA: We are working on writing memoirs.  Ask your child to share with you some of the  memories (moments in time) that they are going to write on.

Math 6:  Finish questions 12-15 on page 50.

Socials:  Are to have the labeling completed on their map of Canada.

PE Strip

At this time we are short on youth gym strip, however, it has been reordered and will be arriving in a couple of weeks.  Your child has been asked to keep their receipt and will be given the clothing when it arrives.
